Promoter Carlos Llinas returns this Friday with his fan favorite “Night of Knockouts” series at Detroit’s MotorCity Casino-Hotel with a main event featuring Taylor Duerr and Neller Obregon in a battle for the Junior NABF light heavyweight belt. Duerr (9-0-2, 7 KOs) is coming off a hard fought split draw with highly regarded Lyubomyr Pinchuk back in June and is looking to get back in the win column against tough Texan by way of Colombia, Obregon (13-2-1, 8 KOs). The main event is scheduled for eight rounds.
In a six round super middleweight semi main event long time Detroit veteran favorites Darryl Cunningham (42-9, 18 KOs) and Alexis Hloros (18-8-2, 12 KOs) will cross gloves. Both guys are in their 40’s but with Cunningham coming in riding a 9 fight win streak and Hloros having lost his last 3 bouts all by early stoppage, it would seem to point to a win for Cunningham in this one as the boxer with the most left at this late stage of their careers.
Seven scheduled four round bouts put together by matchmakers Llinas and Kenny Moore make up the balance of the show. Derick Miller Jr takes on Jesse Walthers at cruiserweight. Andre Murray Jr will fight Jared Chauvin in a super welterweight contest. A pair of welterweight matchups has Jacob Bonas up against Noah Kidd while Kenyell Rouser takes on Edward Guinn. At super lightweight Terrance Livingston battles Jermon Houck and in a women’s bout Nicole Reinhart fights Anyela Lopez. Lightweights Alexander Lewis vs Allen Melson round out the card.
Tickets: Ticketmaster.com or at the Sound Board box office inside the MotorCity Casino-Hotel.
Doors open Friday night at 6:30 PM with the first bout at 7 PM.
