The weekend started poorly for fans of the Horned Frogs, but it’s ending with a bang. After TCU Soccer beat Iowa State in Ames and TCU Volleyball dispatched Texas Tech, the Frogs got more good news when 4* power forward Terren Frank committed to TCU Basketball.
Frank is a top 200 player in the class of 2020, having starred at Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, CA. Ranked #15 in the state, the 6’7” athlete held nine offers, including Vanderbilt, USC, and Arizona.
In addition to being a part of a Sierra Canyon team that could very well be the #1 ranked program in the country this season, Frank starred this summer for Team Why Not, showing out at big time events like the Nike sponsored Peach Jam during the summer circuit.
Considered a player with tremendous upside, Frank has everything you want in a young player – he is known for his work ethic and focus, something that was instilled in him from a young age by his parents. His father was a collegiate star and NBA player, and his mother works as a lawyer. As you can imagine, Terren himself is an exceptional student in addition to being a superb athlete. You also can’t read anything about the young man without hearing what a fabulous human being he is.
With great handles and a sweet shooting stroke, Frank holds his own on a team loaded with star power, including Bronny James and Zaire Wade – sons of LeBron and Dwayne, respectively. He’s played with Kenyon Martin Jr and other sons of former pros as well. He’s obviously not afraid of the spotlight, and I have a feeling the big stage won’t intimidate him in Fort Worth. He is the second player to commit in the class of 2020, joining center Eddie Lampkin.
