This weekend saw high stakes tournaments, mid-stakes tournaments, and giant cash game pots! Pablo Silva won the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS South America Main Event in Brazil. Garret Adelstein and Andy played an insane set over set hand on Live at the Bike! And Erik Seidel gives an in depth interview. We have all those stories and more in this – the weekend edition of the Hit and Run.
The partypoker LIVE MILLIONS South America Main Event is done! And the latest champion is one Pablo Silva who walked away with a cool million smackers!
Silva was able to defeat fellow Brazilian Fabio Colonese heads-up to win the title, with Fabio having to settle for $640,000. The biggest name at the table was Dzmitry Urbanovich, but an unlikely quads hand sent him out the door in 7th place. The MILLIONS now rolls on. According to PokerNews, “There’s not long to wait until the MILLIONS tour hosts it’s next event, although you need a chunky bankroll to enjoy it fully. MILLIONS Super High Roller Series Sochi runs from March 6-15 in Sochi, Russia, before the tour jets off to sunny Cyprus for the first-ever time from May 3-11th.
MILLIONS Vegas follows throughout June before MILLIONS London sees the tour head closer to home from July 29th to August 13th. Online grinders can enjoy the latest edition of MILLIONS Online during September.”
Here’s a look at the official final table results. Congrats to all the big winners!
Mid-Stakes Tournament Action Heats Up!
It wouldn’t be a cold weekend in February without hot mid-stakes tournies! And we’ve got you covered with this weekend update on them. The $1700 WSOP Circuit Main Event was in Tampa this weekend and the players came out in droves! Wowser, 1162 entries ponied up the mula over two starting days in this one, and at the time of this writing only 64 remain. Patrick Serda leads the way with 1.5 million. First place in this bad boy is 291k!
-The Parx Big Stax is in its 32nd iteration, and their big $500 event is going down for real right now. A similarly insane 1,496 players plopped down the cash to take their shot and now only 139 are left. David Clarke leads the way with 1.6 million. First place? $127k. Hmm, I guess I should have played.
-And lastly the 2020 Potomac Winter Poker Open is seeing their Main Event this weekend. This one had a $3k price point with a half million guarantee slapped on it. 294 started, but they are now down to 37. Jeromy Bittan leads the way with a healthy chip stack. First place is again solid – 190 dimes.
